Eco Sam is a macro nature photographer helping people in cities deepen their relationship to nature by magnifying
the delicate details often overlooked.
Spend time with her art and you'll find yourself admiring the outside world from a new perspective.
It took years of exploring the world to arrive here.

My view of nature was focused on vast landscapes, appreciating the beauty as a whole.
As my photography practice grew, I found myself zooming in to see the intricate details in a scene. The closer I looked, the closer I felt.

Things really came into focus for me once I purchased a macro lens.
Suddenly, not only was I noticing tiny surprises that blew my mind, I was also being forced to get closer than I ever had before. This is where I began discovering delicate details, impossible to perceive without looking closely.
My heart opened. Curiosity flourished into respect.

Standing in bushes to get the shot woke me up to a fear I'd been living inside. I tended to avoid touching nature entirely, worried it would make me itchy, my brain fearful as I imagined something crawling on me.
I realized my appreciation of nature was only surface level.
I thought about all the times I was told hugging trees was weird. All the ants I killed without a second thought. The trees I refused to climb for fear of a spider landing on me. In many ways, I villainized nature and acted accordingly.
Whose fears were these?
Eventually it made sense. Little memories flooding back to me. A bee sting, itchy skin after rolling in pesticide-treated grass, curated lawns and recently planted trees. The city walls I grew up in reinforced these again and again until it hardened into a belief. My heart was guarded by something that no longer served me.
Learning this gave me a second chance, to deepen the relationship with myself, with nature.
Now I spend fifteen minutes outside every day, in the art of noticing, whether that's through my lens or climbing a tree.
My journey isn't complete, it may never be, but naming those fears and actively letting them go has already brought me real clarity.
My goal is to help people in cities find that same feeling, without needing to change their environment.
Nature is among us.
Nature is within us.
When we take the time to notice it, we begin to experience ourselves differently.

EARTH LED PHOTOGRAPHY
My art is for anyone who wants beauty and nature in their space.
Whether it's a living space, home office, corporate office, resort, or wellness center. I'm open to working with anyone that see's the value in noticing nature.
But it's not just decoration. Research on attention shows the brain works better with even a brief glimpse of nature to rest on. My work sits at that intersection: art that supports your mental clarity and wellbeing, and a nudge to get outside more often.
THE WILD LAND PROJECT
I've always cared deeply for nature and recognized its importance, even if loving it from a distance. Over my two years living in Northern Belize, I grew deeply connected to the wildly alive jungle between my village and the nearest town.
Throughout 2025, every drive unveiled a new scar in the land. Sometimes fully cleared, others freshly burnt. All inside an ecological corridor with signs begging for the forest to be saved. I felt for the animals who lived there. Wondering where they'd gone, knowing many hadn't made it, imagining birds returning to find no home left.
That grief, shared in a conversation with a friend, turned into an idea: buy land to protect it. That single idea is what started the inception of Eco Sam, and my pursuit of selling my images to raise money for the mission. For the protection of land that deserves to be saved, and hidden ecology that deserves to live.
That idea has grown into something bigger since, The Wild Land Project, a fund that grows while I figure out where it can do the most good. The idea is to create something, or support something, that protects land, improves local ecology and repairs people's relationship to the very thing that sustains them. Ten percent of net profits from everything I sell goes toward it. It's early days, but the intent is real, and reinforced by every drive to town, every life lost in the society of the trees.

OTHER INITIATIVES
Kindness Worldwide Ambassador
Along with being Eco Sam, I'm also a Kindness Worldwide Ambassador.
Kindness Worldwide is a global nonprofit built around one goal, making kindness a real, practiced part of everyday life instead of just something we talk about. They run Kindness Week Worldwide, build kindness curriculum for schools, and hand out kindness citations through local police departments, all different doors into the same room. Being an Ambassador means I've taken on a piece of that work here, showing up for kindness on purpose instead of waiting for it to happen on its own.
My philosophy as an ambassador is simple: kindness to yourself, your neighbor, your planet, the same spirit that shows up in everything I make here.
If that's speaking to you too, come join us.
I host a Kindness Worldwide Global Meditation with my incredible friend and meditation guide, April Wyett of Living with Intention.
We do this in an effort to spread ripples of kindness, one mind at a time.

Kindness to yourself, your neighbor, and your planet

I AM Magazine - Feature Story
I had the sincere pleasure and honour to write a feature about my origin story in the
I AM Magazine April 2026 edition.
With close to 200,000 subscribers, this was one of the scariest things I did this year. It was raw, real, and pushed me to face my true story, my life experiences, and turn the story into one of pride and success rather than shame. I struggled to write it all the way up until the day before it was due, but finally, the words came through. It was a therapeutic experience that came with great feedback following the release of the edition.
If you are a business owner or someone with a great story to share, check out I AM Magazine. It may be the next best place for your story to be shared with the world.

My Personal Blog
This is only part of the story.
Thirteen years of travel, learning through the school of life, and slowly finding my way into environmentalism and sustainability all led me here.
I'll be sharing more of that journey through blogs as they come out, sign up below if you want to follow along.
